Highlights from HRRMC Family Birthing Center and our commitment to supporting breastfeeding:

- Several Certified Lactation Counselors, and one Lactation Consultant on staff, making the first start in the breastfeeding journey successful.

- Free lactation support: evaluation, counseling, special infant scale which accurately weighs baby before and after breastfeeding to see exactly how much baby ate

- We have a 24 hour phone support for new parents: 719-530-2277

- Donor milk program through Mothers Milk Bank: for supplementation, as needed. Donor milk site.

- Free Childbirth and Breastfeeding classes at HRRMC

- For Employees : FBC has 2 hospital-grade breast pumps available for staff to use, and a private area for pumping during work, a refrigerator for breastmilk storage.

Women's Health Physical Therapists

We also have certified women's health physical therapists available for consultations during and after pregnancy. HRRMC's Family Birthing Center is one of the few birthing centers in the nation that offers physical therapy services to all of our mothers postpartum. Our PTs will advise you on gentle exercise to help you begin the healing process. They can also fit you for a binder if needed and provide you with education to decrease your risk of pain, incontinence and prolapse.
