Facility and clinic updates

HRRMC facilities are open under normal operating hours and masking requirements are only under effect for ANYONE with COVID-19 related symptoms, such as:

Providers are offering telehealth visits in addition to in-person appointments.

Please Note:

  • All patients must self-screen for respiratory symptoms upon arrival to the hospital and clinics.
  • The Café is open to patients and visitors. All diners in the Cafe must self-screen for respiratory symptoms prior to entering the Cafe, and NOT ENTER if they have any symptoms.

Wearing masks

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)differentiates new source control (masking) practice based on county community transmission status. The CDC recommendations were updated recently to reflect the high levels of vaccine and infection-induced immunity and the availability of effective treatments and prevention options currently in the United States.

This status is updated weekly through the CDC's COVID Data Tracker.

What this means: When Chaffee County is NOT rated as "High" (i.e., either Low, Moderate or Substantial) on the CDC COVID data community transmission level tracker, ASYMPTOMATIC staff, patients, and visitors will not be required to practice source control with a face covering or mask.

Clinics who regularly serve vulnerable patients may continue to encourage masking for all regardless of the community transmission rate.

Additionally, anyone may choose to wear a facemask at anytime based on their comfort level.

Anyone (staff, patients and visitors) with any respiratory symptoms are expected to wear a facemask while in the facility. This has always been considered "respiratory etiquette" and was the standardized practice long before COVID.

If you do not have a face covering or mask, please utilize the kiosks at our main entrances, which are supplied with masks.

If you have a medical exemption from wearing a mask, please come prepared with a doctor's note that provides your exemption, and we will provide you with a face shield and take special precautions to ensure your appointment goes smoothly while maintaining safety at all times.

Disclaimer: These masks do not protect the wearer from being infected by the COVID-19 virus. The intention is to keep droplets contained from leaving your mouth and nose to protect those around you. They can also remind us not to touch our faces.

Medical screenings

Calling ahead to schedule an appointment is required for all patients entering HRRMC clinics.

Patients will undergo a COVID-19 specific medical screening over the phone before their appointment. If the patient screens positive for respiratory symptoms over the phone – such as fever, cough and shortness of breath – they will be asked to stay home, and their provider will be notified.

When arriving in person, you will be expected to self-screen for symptoms by reviewing the Patients and Visitors symptom chart near the front entrance. You will need to let registration staff know if you have any symptoms immediately.

Patients will be screened over the phone and then staff will let you know if they will conduct a test at your vehicle, or if you will come inside to be seen.

Hand hygiene, cleaning procedures and social distancing

All patients entering clinics are encouraged to sanitize hands frequently. Patients are not allowed to enter the clinics more than 10 minutes prior to their appointment time; patients arriving more than 10 minutes early will be asked to return to their vehicle and wait.

Signage and floor markings indicate safe social distancing protocols.

Telehealth virtual appointments

HRRMC is providing telehealth services via confidential videoconferencing. Call your provider's office directly to set this up and a staff member will guide you through the process.

Please visit our Telehealth webpage for your appointment.

Entrance and exit closures

The main hospital entrance opens at 8 a.m., and closes at 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Please follow signage to enter the buildings where appropriate. After 5 p.m. and on weekends, patients can enter through the Emergency Department.

If leaving after 5 p.m., please DO NOT EXIT THROUGH THE MAIN HOSPITAL DOORS. There is an exit at the bottom of the stairwell that should be used in its place.

If you try to exit through the main doors, you are breaking the locking mechanism and will cause extreme damage to the doors.
