Our Facility

State-of-the-art hospital

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center has been at 1000 Rush Drive in Salida, Colorado, since April 1, 2008. The facility's design enables us to provide state-of-the-art care using advanced medical technology.

The hospital is the healthcare center for the entire region, serving the many tourists who visit our valley and nearly 20,000 residents throughout the Salida Hospital District (Chaffee County and parts of Fremont and Saguache counties).

A healing environment

The hospital is designed to be a healing environment for visitors, patients and staff. The building has been oriented so that the unique views from the site can be enjoyed by patients and staff from inside the building.

The hospital's design has key features such as:

  • A healing garden
  • Wi-Fi areas
  • A walking trail
  • Private rooms for all patients
  • Sunlit atrium lobby
  • Original artwork throughout the facility

Inpatient rooms are all on the second floor, many with mountain views. All inpatient rooms are single rooms with a private bathroom/shower.
