HRRMC provides COVID-19 testing at our Emergency Department, the BVHC walk-in clinic, and through regular primary care provider appointments at our outlying clinics in Salida, Buena Vista, Saguache and Westcliffe.

Chaffee County Public Health (CCPH) has several testing options in the county, which are linked below. CCPH offers their own testing Mondays and Thursdays from 10 - 11:30 a.m. each week by appointment only. Testing takes place at the Touber Building, 448 E 1st St. in Salida. Online appointments can be made here.

Here you can view a list of all testing locations in Chaffee County.

What to do if you test positive

  1. Positive cases/Isolation: Positive cases must isolate from others. See the following isolation packet for more details on how and for how long you need to isolate.

  2. Positive exposures/Quarantine: Your unvaccinated close contacts AND your close contacts who are vaccinated but not boosted (if they are eligible because it’s been 5 months since Moderna/Pfizer or 2 months since J&J) must quarantine. Your quarantine period is 5 days (day of exposure is day 0), and you must wear a mask for 5 days after quarantine ends. See the following quarantine letter to send to close contacts. Please focus especially on your unvaccinated close contacts, as they are at the greatest risk of getting and spreading COVID-19, as well as having more severe outcomes.

    1. When you should get tested if you are a close contact

      1. Symptomatic: Test ASAP

      2. Asymptomatic: Test on day 5

  3. Your vaccinated and boosted close contacts do not need to quarantine. They need to test on day 5 and wear a mask in public for 10 days.

YOU are responsible for following isolation. YOU are responsible for talking with your close contacts. Thank you for helping us keep our community as safe as possible.
