HRRMC Welcomes Urologist Michael Atwell to Medical Staff
SALIDA, Colo.—Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) is thrilled to announce that board-certified urologist Michael Atwell, M.D., has joined HRRMC’s medical staff.
Dr. Atwell is seeing patients full-time in the HRRMC Urology Clinic, located on the first floor of the Outpatient Pavilion at 1000 Rush Drive in Salida.
Dr. Atwell earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois, and completed his residency in Urologic Surgery at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. He is board-certified by the American Board of Urology, and most recently worked as a Urologist at the Urologic Associates of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, Colorado.
“I enjoy working with a diverse range of patients, and appreciate that urology allows me to provide patients with immediate assistance for acute conditions while also building long-term relationships when treating chronic diseases,” shared Dr. Atwell. “I’m committed to providing my patients with therapeutic options that will positively affect their quality of life, both personally and relationally.”
In addition to seeing patients in the Urology clinic and performing outpatient procedures, Dr. Atwell will also perform robotic-assisted surgeries at HRRMC.
In his free time, Dr. Atwell enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, as well as big game hunting, fishing, hiking, various types of skiing and biking.
