HRRMC Health Fair is June 1

The HRRMC Health Fair is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, from 7 a.m.-noon at the hospital in blood vile clip artSalida, 1000 Rush Dr. Anyone 18 and older may participate in the fair’s low-cost blood tests and free health screenings.

In addition to the screenings, attendees can visit with community vendors and tour the new Outpatient Pavilion.

This year’s low-cost screenings are blood chemistry ($35), blood count ($20), B12/folate profile ($35), hemoglobin A1c ($30), PSA ($30), testosterone ($45) and vitamin D ($45).

To ensure accurate results for the blood chemistry test, a 12-hour fast (no food) is recommended prior to the blood draw. Fasting is not necessary for the other low-cost screening tests. Diabetics should not fast. All participants should drink water and take their regular medication.

Free screenings available at the HRRMC Health Fair include blood pressure, body in balance, body composition, cardiopulmonary, height/weight (BMI), nutrition, oral health and skin.

This year’s vendors are Chaffee County Public Health, Heart of the Rockies Home Health and Hospice, Women’s Wellness Connection, REACH Air Medical Services, Premier Home Care, Ark Valley Helping Hands and HRRMC.

To preregister for the low-cost screenings, go to the hospital’s front desk or hrrmc.com and click on the “HRRMC Health Fair” button on the home page. Preregistration is not required, but will save participants the time required to register on the day of the fair.

Attending the HRRMC Health Fair does not replace a regular checkup with your physician, and participants are advised to make an appointment with their primary care provider to interpret test results.
