HRRMC welcomes four hospital-employed physicians

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is holding an open house for four new hospital-employed physicians on Monday, Feb. 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in the hospital atrium lobby near the main entrance, 1000 Rush Dr., Salida. This event is free and open to the public.

The open house will also give patients and friends an opportunity to wish Dr. Harry Payton well in his retirement. Dr. Payton had provided ENT services in Chaffee County since 2011 and is an HRRMC board member.

Michele Streeter, M.D., is a board-certified otolaryngologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of the ear, nose and throat (ENT). She earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver and completed a general surgery internship and otolaryngology head and neck surgery residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Streeter sees patients at HRRMC Ear, Nose and Throat at 920 Rush Dr. in Salida. Her office is located in the same office where Dr. Payton practiced in the Wentz Foot and Ankle Specialists building on the hospital campus.

Bradford Moss, M.D., FACS, is a board-certified urologist who returned to HRRMC in January. Dr. Moss practiced at HRRMC Urology Services from 2012 – 2015 before taking a sabbatical and relocating to Kansas City, Kansas. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and did his internship at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. He completed his residency in urology through Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine. Dr. Moss is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and sees patients along with Drs. Mancini, DeRosa and Nelson at the HRRMC Medical Clinics, 550 W. Hwy. 50, in Salida.

Karen Johnson, M.D., FACS, has provided surgical services at HRRMC since January 2012 through Surgical Specialists of Colorado (SSOC). She will continue to see patients as an HRRMC-employed physician rather than through the SSOC practice. She earned her medical degree from Texas A&M University and completed her residency in general surgery at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Johnson is board-certified in general surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She has a special interest in diseases of the breast and has been instrumental in establishing HRRMC’s Center for Breast Health. Her office remains in the same location in the hospital.

Charles Bellows, M.D., FACS, is board-certified in general surgery and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, now part of Drexel University, in Philadelphia. He completed a surgical residency and research fellowship through the Department of Surgery at Tulane University. Dr. Bellows is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and sees patients along with Dr. Johnson at HRRMC General and Trauma Surgery in the former SSOC office location in the hospital.
