About Taryn
Taryn is bilingual in Spanish and English. Taryn Barrette grew up in southern California and then moved to Davis, CA to complete her undergraduate studies in Clinical Nutrition. She obtained her Registered Dietitian certification in 2009 from UMass Amherst. After working 2 years studying breastfeeding medicine and working as a dietitian, she returned to school at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ to complete her Masters in Physician Assistant studies in 2013. She has worked in primary care, urgent care, women’s health and orthopedics.
Taryn also teaches wilderness medicine courses through Desert Mountain Medicine in Leadville and supports families through her work as a CLC (Certified Lactation Consultant).
In her free time, Taryn hosts a monthly Trivia night, enjoys mountain biking, trail running, cooking and getting outside with her husband and two kids.
