Facility and Clinic Updates

During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, HRRMC is working hard to continue essential services while protecting the health and safety of our patients, providers and staff.

Registration Updates

HRRMC began reintroducing services on Monday, April 27 under limited circumstances and are ensuring social distancing guidelines are followed and monitored.

The Centralized Scheduling team is now prioritizing and working diligently to coordinate and schedule the extensive backlog of appointments and orders that were put on hold during the "Stay at Home" and "Safer at Home" executive orders. They are aiming to have this completed as quickly as possible.

Services that are still being reviewed for urgent and emergent needs before being scheduled are PFTs, Sleep Studies, and EEGs.

Additionally, the PFS registration team has developed several solutions to work within the parameters of social distancing while increasing patient appointments, which are outlined below.

1. Pre-registering for appointments

Patient Financial Services is highly recommending that patients pre-register for their appointment after being scheduled. This will eliminate the need to stand in line prior to their in-person appointment to fill out any paperwork or authorizations. Patients can do this in two ways: By calling 719-530-2360 prior to their in-person appointment, or when the registration team initiates a phone call to pre-register for scheduled services prior to their appointment (for which they will need to answer the phone call to confirm).

Patients can call to pre-register for ANY service.

2. Verbal authorizations

Patient Financial Services will be asking for verbal authorizations as opposed to written authorizations at the time of pre-registration, to reduce wait time in lines and accelerate the registration process.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work to return to normalcy during this unprecedented time.

Other special arrangements:

Family Birthing Center: In order to prevent potential infection and exposure, Family Birthing Center nurses and staff are not treating sick patients, nor any suspected COVID-19 patients at the hospital. The Family Birthing Center is currently utilizing space on the first floor of the Outpatient Pavilion near the Retail Pharmacy for baby weight checks, newborn screenings, lactation consultations and additional services so that healthy mothers and babies do not have to come into the main hospital, but can still receive this vital services. This space is available every day by appointment - please call ahead to schedule at 719-530-2277.

While hospital restrictions have limited the Family Birthing Center to one healthy visitor per patient, one (1) additional paid labor support member is allowed to be present during your delivery (such as a Doula). Our team of Obstetrics physicians, nurses and staff will be on hand for all your needs.

If hospital patient volume drastically increases in coming weeks, the Family Birthing Center has a contingency plan in place for labor and delivery space in the Outpatient Pavilion, so that expectant mothers and healthy families stay separated from the hospital.

Allergy: Drive-up allergy visits/shots are being held in the west entrance parking lot behind the Pavilion. These are by appointment only.

Rehabilitation and Wellness

  • Reintroduction of elective appointments began on Monday, April 27. Rehab and cardiac rehab appointments to continue in person based on comfort level and urgency of patients.
  • Wellness U gym closed until further notice.
