Painting exhibit by Salida artist Sally Mather now on display at HRRMC
SALIDA, Colo.— A collection of original paintings from Salida artist Sally Mather are on display at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) now through March 31 of this year.
Mather’s connection to healthcare goes beyond her exhibit at HRRMC, as she spent her professional career as a nurse-midwife before pursuing art full-time in retirement.
Mather’s featured work highlights the patterns, textures and play of light in nature through a series of oil, acrylic and pastel work. Through the years, Mather has continued to develop her artistic skillset, both taking and hosting numerous classes and workshops, pursuing new forms of artistic processes and working with a variety of mediums.
“When painting on location, one becomes immersed in the smells, sights and sounds of nature,” shares Mather. “My goal is to capture the essence of the moment.”
