SALIDA, Colo.—HRRMC will be hosting a community open house on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 5-6:30 p.m. to celebrate the Delnay Guest House, a 10-unit housing building on HRRMC’s main campus. The event will take place right outside of at the guest house, located at 7164 County Road 154 in Salida.
An official presentation and ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m., followed by tours of two of units in the building and the outdoor pocket park from 5:30-6:30 p.m., with light appetizers, beverages and information about the building available during this time.
The Delnay Guest House consists of fully-furnished one-bedroom, two-bedroom and ADA units that are available for charitable overnight stays for patients and their families/caretakers who live more than 30 miles from HRRMC, as well as short-term employee housing. Construction began on the Delnay Guest House in February 2024, and was completed in April 2025. The Delnay Guest House was first utilized by guests in May 2025.
Funding for this project came from an unexpected donation from the Robert and Bernice Delnay Trust in February 2021. The $1.5 million donation covered a majority of the construction costs for the guest house, with remaining costs covered by HRRMC and the HRRMC Foundation. Artwork within the units feature local artists.
