New family medicine physician joins HRRMC Custer County Health Center

WESTCLIFFE, Colo.—Board-certified physician G. Marcus Stephens has joined the medical staff at HRRMC Custer County Health Center (CCHC) and began providing full-time family medicine and primary care services in October.

Dr. Stephens joins family nurse practitioners Charlotte Stark, FNP-BC, and Maria Duran-Shy, FNP-BC, in providing services at the clinic, and will act as medical director of CCHC.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Stephens join Custer County Health Center as our full-time family medicine physician and clinic medical director,” said HRRMC vice president Peter Edis. “With his medical expertise and decades of experience, we foresee Dr. Stephens being a valuable addition to our clinic and the Westcliffe community.”

Dr. Stephens is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has more than 30 years of experience in family medicine and primary care, both in private practice and clinical settings. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas’ School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas, where he also completed his residency in family medicine.

Dr. Stephens has also worked in various emergency department settings, and taught as a clinical professor at several colleges and universities.
