HRRMC Wellness U offers diabetes prevention program

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center’s Wellness U and Chaffee County Public Health are offering the National Diabetes Prevention Program in Salida and Buena Vista.

The National Diabetes Prevention Program is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifestyle change program designed to prevent Type 2 diabetes.

This program introduces those who are prediabetic or at risk of developing diabetes to healthy habits needed for preventing or delaying the onset of Type 2 diabetes.

Classes will begin Jan. 25 and will take place:

  • Tuesdays, from 5-6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 7 Poncha Blvd., Salida
  • Wednesdays, from 1-2 p.m. at Chaffee County Offices, 114 Linderman Ave., Buena Vista
  • Fridays, from 8:45-9:45 a.m. at Wellness U Gym, 1548 G St., Salida
