HRRMC Rehab hosts perimenopause exercise series

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center’s women’s health physical therapy team is hosting a five-week exercise series for women experiencing symptoms of perimenopause or menopause. The group will meet on Tuesdays, June 12 - July 10, from 1 -2 p.m.

The series will be led by physical therapists Ann Croghan, Allison Hammond, Sarah Hudelson, and Laura Williams. All four instructors have doctorates in physical therapy and specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy. They will teach women how to exercise safely and effectively during perimenopause or menopause.

Exercise sessions are designed for women experiencing symptoms such as pelvic pain, urinary or fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, post-menopausal atrophic vaginitis, and more.

Sessions will include yoga, tai chi, and a swimming-pool class.

All classes will be held at the Wellness U Gym, 1548 G St., Unit 5, Salida, except for the pool class which will meet at the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center. Cost for the pool class is $5. The other four sessions are free.

Attending all five sessions is encouraged but not required.

Preregistration is recommended. Go to www.hrrmc.com and click on the “Classes & Events” button to register online. You may also call (719) 530-2040 for more info and to register.
