HRRMC displays oil paintings by Tim Deibler

An exhibit of oil paintings depicting mountain peaks and desert canyons by WalsenburgTim Deibler artist Tim Deibler is on display at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center until Dec. 31.

Deibler has had a lifelong interest in art and portraying the world around him. Born and raised in Oklahoma, his passion for landscapes, mountains in particular, began after seeing the movie “The Mountain.” With the encouragement of a high school art teacher, Deibler chose to pursue his education at the Art Institute of Colorado in Denver, where he could see the entire Front Range from his apartment window.

After a varied career in the commercial art field, Deibler moved his family in 1991 to southern Colorado, a place he could raise his children with a love for the outdoors.

"Every time I look out the window or walk outside, I'm in the mountains,” said Deibler. “(That makes) it much easier for me to observe the constant moods and nuances of nature.” His goal is to communicate what he experiences in nature through his painting so that viewers think, “I’d like to be there.”

Deibler’s work is included in many corporate collections including L.L. Bean and the Brown Palace Hotel as well as in the private collection of former President Bill Clinton. His painting “The Grenadier Range” is featured in the Netflix movie “Our Souls at Night,” based on the final book of Salida novelist Kent Haruf.

Deibler is also a teacher and workshop instructor. His paintings have been published in several books including “Art from the Parks” and “Landscapes of Colorado.” More of his work can be viewed at timdeibler.com.

All works in the hospital exhibit are for sale, and 25 percent of the proceeds are donated to the HRRMC Foundation.

HRRMC is hosting four art exhibits this year, as part of its mission to create a healing environment. The hospital displays the work of regional artists, with an emphasis on the Arkansas Valley. For more information on exhibiting art at HRRMC, call (719) 530-2217.
