About Amy
Amy was born and raised in Ohio. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in molecular biology at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She then completed two years as a pre-doctoral Research Training Award Fellow at the Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis at the National Cancer Institute of the NIH, Bethesda, MD. Shortly after this, she entered into graduate school at the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, where she earned a Ph.D. in biopharmaceutical sciences.
She completed her post-doctoral studies at the University of California, San Francisco. She served more than 15 years as a research scientist, driving studies supporting cancer research and pharmaceutical advances before realizing she prefers to directly support the health of others, and thus entered a career in healthcare as a nursing professional.
Amy earned her Bachelors of Nursing Science (2016), Masters of Science in Nursing (2023) and Doctorate of Nursing Practice (2023) from Colorado State University Pueblo (CSUP) School of Nursing. She has six years of experience as an intensive care registered nurse on cardiac-, neurotrauma- and medical ICUs, and two years as a post-anesthesia care RN. She is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, with experience in Internal Medicine and Pain Management.
Amy finds her work in Pain Management and caring for the adult and elderly populations highly rewarding. Her practice promotes multimodal pain management strategies which are holistic, evidence-based and align with patient preferences. Amy helps her patients and their families navigate the challenges of managing acute and chronic pain conditions while providing comprehensive management of musculoskeletal pain, nerve pain, and complex pain syndromes, all with the goal of improving functional status and quality of life indicators.
Amy enjoys cycling and hiking with friends and family, and taking long drives through mountain valleys. She has a passion for improving environments for humans and all animals and enjoys developing xeriscape gardens to attract pollinators.
