HRRMC welcomes physician Katherine Gassman to medical staff
SALIDA, Colo.—Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) is pleased to welcome board-certified family medicine and obstetrics physician Dr. Katherine Gassman, D.O. to its medical staff.
Dr. Gassman will see patients full time at the HRRMC Salida Health Center, located at 550 West U.S. 50 in Salida.
Dr. Gassman brings extensive experience in rural healthcare, along with advanced fellowship training in surgical and high-risk obstetrics, including Cesarean delivery. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. She completed her family medicine residency at Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas. Following her residency, Dr. Gassman pursued advanced fellowship training in rural family medicine with obstetrics at Tacoma Family Medicine in Tacoma, Washington.
“Dr. Gassman’s experience in family medicine and obstetrics is a special skillset, allowing her to care for patients from pregnancy to older adulthood,” said HRRMC CEO John Tucker. “Her ability to support entire families as they grow and provide continuity of care in our community is a tremendous asset to HRRMC and to Chaffee County.”
Dr. Gassman grew up in Connecticut and spent significant time in Maine before relocating to Colorado with her cattle dog mix, Annie. She enjoys hiking, skiing, mountain biking and running half marathons, and looks forward to serving and becoming part of the Chaffee County community.
