SALIDA, Colo.—Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center (HRRMC) is excited to welcome board-certified nurse practitioner Amy B. Foraker, PhD, DNP, AGACNP-BC to HRRMC’s medical staff.
Ms. Foraker will be seeing patients in the pain management clinic, located in the Outpatient Pavilion at 1000 Rush Drive in Salida.
Ms. Foraker spent the first 15 years of her career as a research scientist, driving studies supporting cancer research and other advances before realizing she wanted to directly support the health of others, thus entering into a career in healthcare.
She went on to earn her Bachelors of Nursing Science, Masters of Science in Nursing and Doctorate of Nursing Practice degrees, all from Colorado State University Pueblo School of Nursing. She has six years of experience as an intensive care registered nurse in cardiac, neurotrauma and medical ICUs., and is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with additional experience in Internal Medicine and Pain Management.
Ms. Foraker finds her work in Pain Management and caring for the adult and aging populations highly rewarding. Her practice promotes multimodal pain management strategies, which are holistic, evidence-based and align with patient preferences. Ms. Foraker helps her patients and their families navigate the challenges of managing acute and chronic pain conditions while providing comprehensive management of musculoskeletal pain, nerve pain, and complex pain syndromes, all with the goal of improving functional status and quality of life.
