(CRNAs) that provides 24/7 anesthesia services at Heart of the Rockies
Regional Medical Center.
In the operating room, the Monarch team offers surgical anesthesia for
patients undergoing a wide range of procedures. They also work in other
departments--such as the
Family Birthing Center,
Emergency Department, and
Medical/Surgical Department--attending to patients for their pain management and sedation needs.
Preparing for Anesthesia
Sedatives have made surgical operations much easier on both doctors and
patients. Anesthesia is administered through gas or drugs and gently induces
a state of unconsciousness. If you know you will soon be administered
anesthesia, avoiding food for eight (8) hours ahead of time is usually
When you know you will be given anesthesia, your physician should go over
expectations and how you can be prepared. Be sure to alert them of any
allergies you have or herbal supplements you may take. During the operation,
patients are monitored by an anesthetist who keeps track of breathing,
blood pressure, and other factors to ensure the anesthesia is working properly.
At Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, we take every precaution
so that your operation goes as smoothly as possible.
