SALIDA, Colo.—Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center announced today a change in their
Beginning June 12, interventional cardiologist James Schmidt, M.D., will
see cardiology patients at the HRRMC Buena Vista Health Center, 28374
County Road 317. Dr. Schmidt will no longer see office patients in the
Specialty Clinic at the Salida hospital but will continue to provide procedures
at the hospital.
Dr. Schmidt is a board-certified cardiologist. He earned his medical degree
at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his
internal medicine residency at the Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati.
Dr. Schmidt was a postdoctoral fellow in pharmacology and cell biophysics
at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for three years before
completing a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Stanford University.
He completed another fellowship in endovascular and coronary intervention
at the Arizona Heart Institute and Foundation. He is a fellow of the American
College of Cardiology.

Physicians from Colorado Springs Cardiology will continue to see patients
in the hospital’s Specialty Clinic and perform procedures at the
