Natural-gas service restored to hospital and HRRMC Medical Clinics

Atmos Energy restored natural-gas service to the Salida hospital at about 11 a.m. today. It was restored at the HRRMC Medical Clinics, 550 W. Hwy. 50, at 11:30 a.m. today. Both facilities have heat and hot water.

The hospital and clinic lost gas service the morning of April 10 when a gas pipeline ruptured near Poncha Springs.

HRRMC needed to reschedule 15 surgeries due to the outage. “We were able to reschedule all of the surgeries in a timely manner,” said VP Patient Services April Asbury. “We will return to our normal surgery schedule tomorrow, April 12.”

“Our clinical teams and facilities staff worked closely together to ensure that we were able to continue providing the best care possible for our patients,” continued Asbury. “Now that the heat is back on, the portable heaters have been removed from the hospital’s inpatient rooms and the Emergency Department.”

The hospital cafeteria is again serving hot meals.
