SALIDA, Colo.-Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center honored Tracey Banks of Salida
as its fourth-quarter TRAC STAR at a hospital ceremony on Jan. 30.
TRAC STAR is an acronym for the core values that guide HRRMC employee performance:
teamwork, recognition, attitude, customer service, safety, talent, accountability
and respect. The TRAC STAR award recognizes outstanding employees and
is presented quarterly.
Banks joined HRRMC's Medical Imaging Department in 2005 as a radiologic
technologist. She was promoted to lead mammographer in 2013 and to Imaging
supervisor in 2016. "I have witnessed Tracey's customer service
both as a co-worker and as a patient, and she is second to none!"
wrote the employee who nominated her for the award. "Wonderful, caring
and genuine bedside manner."
Banks was also applauded for continuing her education while working. She
received a bachelor's degree in radiological sciences in 2011 from
the Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences and is currently working
toward an MBA in healthcare management through an online program at Western
Governors University.
Hospital CEO Bob Morasko presented Banks with a $200 gift check, a fleece
jacket with the hospital's TRAC logo, and a certificate to be professionally
photographed. A plaque with her photo will be displayed in the hospital
café.
Morasko also acknowledged the other finalists for the quarterly award,
Cindy Nachtrieb of Buena Vista, Marybeth O'Brien of Hartsel, and Monica
Hutson of Nathrop. There were four finalists for the award instead of
the usual three because two finalists received the same number of votes
from the hospital's Communications Team.
Nachtrieb, a Medical Records clerk, was commended for her positive energy
and respectful attitude. "Even if Cindy is having a bad day, anyone
who walks into the office would never know it because of her bubbly personality,"
wrote her nominator.
O'Brien was described in her nomination as "an amazing nursing
supervisor who is always willing to help" and "who shares her
experience with everyone around her."
Hutson, a registrar in the hospital's Specialty Clinic, "makes
patients feel welcome and comfortable," according to her nominator.
"She goes above and beyond to do whatever is needed to assist patients."
HRRMC employees can nominate any of their colleagues for the TRAC STAR
award. Members of the hospital's Communications Team review all nominations,
and then cast individual ballots to determine the finalists and the winner.
All finalists are eligible to be named TRAC STAR of the Year.
