Marji Ackermann recognized as hospital TRAC STAR

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center named Marji Ackermann of Salida its TRAC STAR of the first quarter at a hospital ceremony on April 24. TRAC STAR is an acronym for the core values that guide HRRMC employee performance: teamwork, recognition, attitude, customer service, safety, talent, accountability and respect.Marji Ackerman and 2 other people

Ackermann is HRRMC’s Marketing and Public Relations Director and has been with HRRMC since 2009. According to her nomination, “Marji works very hard to make sure that people feel heard and appreciated. She is a fantastic representative for our hospital and is proactive when it comes to communicating with staff and the community so that everyone feels that their opinion is valued.” Ackermann is involved with a number of local organizations, attends after-hours events, and serves as HRRMC's Public Information Officer. “She’s such an asset to our organization and we are lucky to have her,” said her nominator.

Hospital CEO Bob Morasko presented Ackermann with a $200 gift check, a fleece jacket with the hospital's TRAC logo, and a certificate to be professionally photographed. A plaque with her photo will be displayed in the hospital café.

Morasko also acknowledged the two other finalists for the quarterly award, Scott Allen of Nathrop and Neva Lazrine of Salida.

Allen is the Cardiopulmonary Department Supervisor at HRRMC. He was praised by the employee who nominated him for his ability to communicate with others in a positive manner, especially in times of crisis. “I find it easy to work with Scott. He is compassionate, listens when needed, and is grateful for his coworkers and lets them know that.”

Lazrine, a clerk in the Medical Records Department, has been with HRRMC since 2001. “She is the first person you see when walking into Medical Records and always greets people with a smile and greetings of hello,” said her nominator. “Her 13 years of PFS-billing knowledge and dedication to the hospital have been very helpful. Her coworkers have a great respect for her and she also has great respect for her coworkers. A great team player!”

HRRMC employees can nominate any of their colleagues for the TRAC STAR award. Members of the hospital's Communications Team review all nominations, and then cast individual ballots to determine the three finalists and the winner. All finalists are eligible to be named TRAC STAR of the Year.
