HRRMC Auxiliary awards scholarship

June 12, 2012

Salida, Colorado - Chandler Hollenbeck, a 2012 graduate of Buena Vista High School, is this year's HRRMC Auxiliary Scholarship winner.

The Auxiliary awards the $3,000 college scholarship annually to a high school senior in the Salida Hospital District planning to pursue a career in health care. The $750 annual scholarship is renewed each of four years, pending the student's academic standing.

Hollenbeck will attend the nursing program at Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma. Hollenbeck says she was influenced by her interest in "anatomy and everything about the body." She is also fascinated by epidemiology.

The HRRMC Auxiliary first awarded the scholarship in 1967. Past recipients include cancer researcher Greg Ogilvie, Dr. Tim Sandell, and HRRMC Rehabilitation Department Manager Desirae Westphal.
