Medical Imaging

Medical Imaging, also referred to as Radiology, is the method of diagnosing illness and injury through the use of x-rays, ultrasound waves or by capitalizing on the physiologic effects of high strength magnetism (MRI). The different modalities of Medical Imaging include Diagnostic X-Ray, Mammography, CT Scanning, Ultrasound, Bone Density and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Diagnostic X-Ray – HRRMC offers a full range of conventional diagnostic x-ray capabilities.

Digital Mammography – HRRMC meets the needs of women in the Upper Arkansas Region in diagnosing breast cancer by providing both screening and diagnostic full-field digital mammography. Same-week appointments are available.

CT Scanning – Our state-of-the-art, 16-slice per rotation, CT scanner is unrivaled in its ability to produce multiple, detailed, cross-sectional images with precise clarity. It provides our physicians with the maximum amount of diagnostic information in the shortest amount of scan time for patients.

Bone Density – Our in-house bone densitometry unit is operated by either Registered Radiologic Technologists or Certified Bone Densitometrists. Board-certified radiologists interpret these studies as they do with all Medical Imaging studies.

Ultrasound – A full range of diagnostic ultrasound services is available including abdomen, OB, pre-natal checks, peripheral vascular and more. These studies are all conducted by an operator/technologist with RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) credentials.
Cardiac ultrasound is also available to patients twice per week through a mobile service with which the hospital is contracted. This service is provided through our Cardio-Pulmonary Department (719-530-2280).

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) – Our 1.5 Tessla MRI allows for faster scanning times and more studies of dense body tissue.
