Salida, Colorado - Information Systems Application Support Specialist Rachel Potter of Nathrop was named Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center's TRAC STAR of the First Quarter at a hospital ceremony on April 30. The hospital's TRAC STAR embodies the core values that guide employee performance: teamwork, recognition, attitude, customer service, safety, talent, accountability and respect.
Potter's role in implementing the electronic medical record in the hospital's physician practices was commended. An employee who nominated Potter wrote, "Rachel is the perfect example of teamwork, attitude, respect and accountability. She is working hard at NextGen implementation and striving to make it all perfect. (She) is a great example of 'grace under pressure'."
Hospital CEO Ken Leisher awarded Potter a $200 gift check, a fleece jacket with the hospital's TRAC logo, a certificate to be professionally photographed and her own hospital parking space for a month. A plaque with her photo will be displayed in the hospital.
Leisher also recognized the two other first quarter TRAC STAR finalists: Environmental Services Aide Kurt Sedlacek and Payroll's Jerri Doran.
One of Sedlacek's nominators noted he brings a "positive attitude to any task placed before him. He has even cleaned our outside windows when we only 'joked' of them being dirty! He treats everyone, visitors and staff, with dignity, courtesy and compassion." Sedlacek was also described as the "go to" team member "if you are having a bad day and need someone to talk to or need a laugh."
Doran was praised by her nominator as "our unsung hero. She makes a substantive yet mostly unrecognized contribution to everyone at HRRMC. We all get paid - on time, every time - with no problems because of her."
HRRMC employees can nominate any of their colleagues for the TRAC STAR award. All three finalists are eligible to be named TRAC STAR of the Year.
