Salida, Colorado - Teresa D. Loftin, M.D., will join Dr. Angela Haas and family nurse practitioner Jan Ommen as a medical provider at the HRRMC Buena Vista Health Center in September. Dr. Loftin is board certified in family medicine.
Originally from Oklahoma, Dr. Loftin relocated to Buena Vista with her husband and two sons in 2011. For the past year, she has worked at a family medicine clinic owned by St. Vincent Hospital in Leadville. Prior to that, she was in private practice for eight years in Oklahoma. She has also practiced medicine at a Cherokee Nation health center in Stilwell, Okla., and with a family practice in Fayetteville, Ark.
"We are very excited that Dr. Loftin is joining our Buena Vista clinic," said Ken Leisher, HRRMC chief executive officer. "Adding another family medicine physician will enable us to continue expanding our services to the residents of northern Chaffee County."
Dr. Loftin earned her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and did her internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas. She completed her residency in family practice with the Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Residency Program in Fayetteville, Ark. The AHEC programs serve as the main educational outreach of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and help train physicians and other healthcare professionals to serve in rural areas.
Dr. Loftin is a primary care physician who will begin seeing patients at the HRRMC Buena Vista Health Center on September 10. To make an appointment with her, call 395-9048.
