HRRMC earns Avatar award

Salida, Colorado-Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center has been awarded the 2011 Avatar Award for Exceeding Patient Expectations. Avatar International is an industry leader in health care quality improvement services.

"HRRMC has gone above and beyond to exceed its patients' expectations," said David Medvedeff, chief executive officer of Avatar. "As a result of such efforts, HRRMC is extremely deserving of this year's Exceeding Patient Expectations Award."

The Avatar award is given to health care facilities whose overall score exceeds expectations for the patient groups they are currently surveying. At HRRMC, all inpatients and Emergency Department patients are sent the survey.

"Service is one of our five organizational pillars that form the foundation for everything that we do," said Ken Leisher, HRRMC's chief executive officer. "Our ability to exceed patient expectations is a direct result of our entire staff focusing on service to our patients and the overall patient experience.
