it is for athletes to keep up their routine, treatment is aimed at returning
the patient to the field as fast as possible, but never at the expense
of the their overall wellbeing.

Meet the Sports Medicine Team
Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center’s orthopedic sports
medicine center is led by Dr. Robert Hunter. Dr. Hunter is a nationally
recognized orthopedic surgeon who has written and lectured extensively
on sports health. Supporting Dr. Hunter are experienced physician assistants
and athletic trainers. Their team believes in creating a close relationship
with patients that encourages open communication. In this way our staff
can better understand the patient’s goals and plan out treatment
with their objectives in mind.
Dr. Hunter's sports medicine practice complements Dr. E. Andrew Jonassen's
total joint replacement practice in the HRRMC Orthopedic Center of Excellence. When patients require a
joint implant, we discuss their lifestyle and work collaboratively to
design a replacement that meets their criteria.
