Medical testing and analysis

HRRMC Lab Services in Salida, Colorado.

The HRRMC Laboratory provides outpatient services and inclusive laboratory services for HRRMC inpatients.

The laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, an accreditation program designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all lab patients.

In-house capabilities include blood tests, body fluid analysis, microbiology and pathology. HRRMC has a blood bank on-site and is part of the Bonfils Blood Bank System.

Laboratory outpatient hours, except holidays, at the HRRMC main campus in Salida:
Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays: 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

HRRMC Buena Vista Health Center Lab blood draw hours:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Appointments are not necessary. Please call for an appointment only if these hours do not meet your needs. The laboratory is staffed 24 hours a day for inpatients and emergencies. Kindly check in at the hospital's main registration desk during business hours Monday-Friday. After hours and on weekends, please register in the Emergency Department.

Some laboratory tests require 10-12 hours of fasting. Please ask your doctor or call the lab to find out what preparations you need to make before your test.

Our Providers

Direct Access Testing (DAT)

Direct Access Testing is available at the main hospital lab, our Buena Vista Health Center, Saguache Health Center and the Custer County Medical Center in Westcliffe. Patients are able to order lab tests from a set menu of tests at discounted prices without a doctor's order. No appointment is necessary and patients should register at the front desk. Cash, check or credit card payment is due at the time of service. Your insurance will not be billed. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Test results will be mailed to patients. It is your responsibility to share results with your medical provider.
